With Spring fully in bloom, it’s only fitting to celebrate the season with fresh, floral fun, and we’ve done just that at the 2014 Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival in the Backyard Play Garden presented by GoGo squeeZ™. For a sneak preview of what you can find in the Backyard Play Garden, here are a few of the beautiful blooms it has to offer.
In addition, there are nearly 100 whimsical topiaries at the 75-day flower and garden extravaganza at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Check out some of the other enchanting topiaries and dazzling gardens the festival has to offer.
Everyone’s favorite Muppet characters have been brought to life for the first time in this garden. They captured Miss Piggy‘s glowing gold locks by making them out of a flower called Goldilocks. You’ll find Kermit The Frog playing a banjo, a perfect fit for his playful personality.
The Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast also comes to life in the garden. The personality of each of the characters shines through their green depiction. The clock’s jolly grin is a part of his topiary, and you can see right through the center of his swinging pendulum. Ahh, the classic love story where beautiful woman falls for less-desired man. What better way to teach your child that beauty goes beyond skin-deep? Beast‘s loving nature reads on his face which is brown, just as he is shown in the movie. If we were the Belle topiary, we’d totally dig Beast too.
Cinderella and Prince Charming are also featured overlooking the water. The love that they come to have for each other in the movie can be felt through their dancing topiaries.
Another Disney classic, The Lion King, also takes it’s place in the garden, showcasing the famous opening graphic of Simba being held up for all the animal kingdom to see. This story of triumph over hardship is one every child should see at least once, even if it starts in flower-form. Of course, Timon and Pumba are also there! The diversity of the animal kingdom depicted in the movie is clearly present in the garden.
You can find Snow White and the Dwarfs right along the water. And, of course, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto can be found in all their green glory. Goofy can also be found playing soccer. A photo-worthy picture for you and your kids if we may say so ourselves.
If you have the chance to visit Walt Disney World® Resort in the upcoming weeks, be sure to stop by Epcot® to check out all of the incredible topiaries that are there (and, of course, grab some GoGo squeeZ!)
